Hi,
recently I've taken up olympic lifting after a 1 year stint of powerlifting. When I go deep in my squats, my lower back is rounding. I keep my chest full and open, am an sitting back on my heals correctly. I am quite tall (6'2) and was wondering if this is the reason I can't maintain my arch.

probably!!! you need to work on your hip flexors. also work on the low back flexibility....my son casey has the same problem. we work on stretching continously as well as the hip flexor stretches etc. greg everett: greg@cathletics.com is a great resource for these kind of things.
