Coach- I work as a collegiate strength coach and stumbled onto your website via the Louie Simmons article. I also compete in weightlifting on the side i think your site is great! However, I have been trying to figure out what a "Bar of death" is? ANy insights??

3 bars of death!! crossfit workout: you do a bench press with body wt., a dead lift with 1.5 times body wt. and a power clean with .75 x body wt. you do them in order for 10 reps, then 9 reps, then 8 reps, then 7......all the way to 1 rep. you start the clock when you begin......stop the clock when you finish the last rep!!! it is really the 3 BARS OF DEATH!!!!

That workout regime is aptly named. Brutal but I like it! 2 questions. One-if an athlete is not up to snuff on those percentages for BW, could you use 1RM's instead? As an example, some of my bigger athletes would really struggle right now with a 1.5xBW deadlift but not a 1RM deadlift simply cause they are not strong enougth yet. Second, this strikes me a HIT evaluative tool but when would do this? I was thinking near the end of a couple of consecutive mesocycles. Any thoughts?
