Coach,
I was wondering if there is a standard or accepted % for each lift or muscle group to indicate being "in good shape" or "strong".
As an example, I've seen that for Bench Press you should be able to bench 125% of bodyweight. For Leg Press you should be able to press 250%. I know that every person is different but I was wondering if there was some regionally, nationally, or globally accepted benchmark. Is there a chart somewhere that says "bicep curl 45%, tricep press 65%, squat 130%, etc"?
1. Weightlifting ratios off one repetition maximums:
Ø Snatch approximately 65% +/- 2% of squat and
Ø Clean & jerk approximately 80% +/- 2% of squat
Ø Decide on the percent of strength work vs. percent of technique work
Ø Decide on the percent of snatch work vs. percent of clean & jerk work
