I recently jammed my right thumb playing football and when I tried to lift later on that day I couldnt because it was too painful using the hook grip. I tried using a normal grip but it was a lot harder to pull under the bar in the snatch and I couldn't use as much weight. Should i just lift for now with a normal grip, or let it heal?

BTW I know its not broken because it has full range of motion, looks normal, and is just swollen and it only hurts when I try to flex my thumb

i would concentrate on icing the heck out of it and doing squats pulls presses and lay off the snatch and clean for 3-4 wks or so....emphasize strength for a while.
