What is meant by "...using small plates" and why?

a stronger pull off the ground is why.  one puts 15 kg iron plates and or 10 kg iron plates....add these to a normal bar and perform clean and or sn pulls using the fuller range of motion.  some individuals stand on a 3-5" block and use normal plates when doing the pulls.   i like to insert these periodically in a cycle for variation and a stronger feeling when one goes back to the normal sn and or clean.
