Thanks for the squat program coach. Over the course of 13 weeks (I took a week off after week 4 for vacation) I added 50# to my front squat (305#), 35# to my back squat (371#), and 25# to my deadlift (371#).

Coach what would you think of using the Rippitoe program for Mil/Push presses at the same time is that to much volume or should it it be toned down a bit..Just wondering some other movemnts to add to the Rip Squat program...I have access to many DB's but no bumpers and platforms on a daily basis.--I do how ever want to keep more toward the O-stlye lifts. tony, depends on what one's goals are. for me a oly lifter can benefit by this as long as they have great leg strength. for example a russian lifter years ago only squatted once every 10 days because he could bs 300 kg x 15 reps or so....so he only did fs and no bs because he was strong enough. if one is strong enough then fs are fine along with the ohs.

Good to know. Thank you. My coach, Matt Gibson, hasn't prescribed bs so mostly I focus on fs and ohs and like the idea of having a disciplined schedule for them. I am 63kg and my fs is at about 86kg now and steadily climbing. My goals for now are just to become proficient in the lifts, be healthy and stay injury free. And get stronger of course. I've never experienced a sport that I feel as in tune with and look forward to growing in my ability.

Hey everyone just want to comment about the program i used on here. I used Hatch's program. Let me tell you guys i made serious gains in only six weeks. In just the first six weeks i put 15 kilos on my back squat and 10 on my front. I must say it is hard work, but worth the time. ONly down fall is that my legs were sometimes drained and it effected my training in the lifts a bit. But over all gave me raw power. Now moving on to COach B's program.

Would like to begin training for Olympic lifting competitions. I am looking at doing your 12 week program to peak for a fall competition. I need to add leg strength - can I do a squatting program in addition or does your 12 week program add enough leg strength in your opinion? I typically am limited by my jerk but I also just need to build overall strength...what would you recommend?

jenna, if i am not there to coach you i would use that 12 wk program for sure. its a good program. i would not do any more leg work....however if you were with me i might do 12 sets of 3 reps rather than what is written....just my style...but that is done when i am coaching at my gym normally. i will be in montana in august.

Just did a 30x225lb BS then 1mile run WOD and struggled bad! I'm 190lb. and felt I should be blowing through a WOD like that; therefore, I summed it up as...I'm weak! No pride lost but I sought the best (you) out for some advice. Looking at doing the 10x3 program, but I was wondering if the days of the week HAD to be MON and THURS respectively? As a fireman, I work odd days and would be doing this program at work while I do my reg WOD's at my crossfit box on my days off. Thanks for any and all help.

How much work are you supposed to be able to do in addition to the 10x3 squat program? Since its for oly lifters my guess is that one should be able to work on C&J, snatches etc. with a pretty high volume.
